Prayer for GLDI 2012: Day 42 (Christine Lee ’08)

Father

Thank you for every single member of gldi 12′, the staff, the carefully planned teachers and even the alumni. Every person was meant to be there. Thank you for the experience of a culture that is so openly in love with you and so supportive of one another. I pray lord that every member returns home safely with their testimonies. Leaving this culture, this safe place where we can meet you, will hit some of if not all of the members hard. I pray father that they will be able to represent this culture, their experiences, their new knowledge with those they come across back home. I pray Father that they will take ownership of their homes, their cities and the people in them. Some of them, going back home will be like entering a desert, where they will feel alone again, tempted to fall back into old worldly habits. I pray that they use that time in their desert to meet you, use it as their opportunity to hear your voice and work as your living sacrifice. Through obedience and humility Lord may that desert soon become a garden, a place that becomes so full of life and passion for you Lord. May they be the trees that bear good fruit for you on YOUR land. They are people you are sending out to bring YOUR children back to you, to remind them of their first love. I pray Lord that they may grow a bitterness for the things that take them away from you father. Lord, as leaders may their words have weight. May they learn to be disciplined and of you in what they consume physically and spiritually, their time, and their relationships. The passion in them Lord, may they not let burn out. For it is when it burns out that the voice of the enemy or our own voice becomes reasonable and appealing.

Don’t collect for yourselves treasure on Earth where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also… But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be provided for you. (Matthew 6: 19-21, 33)

God we lift all things to you, we crown you with many crowns! May you be King of all sphere’s of our lives.

I am reminded of the parable of the talents. We will not forget the blessings in our lives nor will we take those blessings for granted. GLDI is one of those blessings and with the talents we have been bestowed by you I pray that we only multiply those talents for your glory!

Thank you father for loving us, for your new mercies, and inviting us into a covenant relationship with you.
AMEN

Prayer for GLDI 2012: Day 41 – By Sarah Park ’10

Heavenly Father,

Thank you for the blessings that you have poured out through GLDI this year. Thank you for bringing each and every student to come to this place where they may have intimate fellowship with you and experience this community and brotherhood that is forged in Christ’s love. God, I pray that in these last days  you will renew each heart with a ever great desire to know you and an ever greater desire to go out and boldly live out your Gospel of love to the hurting and broken world. Most of all, I pray that you would not let any student, staff, speaker, or visitor leave without experiencing the pure and piercing love that you have for each of them.

Lord, I also lift up each brother & sister of the GLDI alumni to you. I pray that you would be watering those seeds that were planted while at GLDI. Remind those who are struggling that you love them and hold them in your mighty hand. Continue to refine us as we strive to reflect Christ.

Above all things, let your holy name be glorified and praised through our lives. While we humbly ask for your mercy and forgiveness for our sinful hearts, we thank you for calling us your own. You are the Most Worthy.

In Jesus name we pray,

Amen.

Prayer for GLDI 2012: Day 40 – By Susie Yoo ’09

Jesus,

Thank you so much for loving us, thank you so much for choosing us to be your own and to be leaders of this generation. As we answer to this call and stand up for truth in such a time as this — give us courage, strength and wisdom to do what is pleasing to you.
Seal the work that has been done in the past 40 days. Seal every promise made, every lesson learned and every relationship made here. Help us to understand that this is a marathon and not a sprint. When discouragements and barriers to our vision come our way, surround us with people who will remind us of who we are in You, and help us to trust in you and your promises.
As we send your precious sons and daughters off into the “real world”, I pray that you fill them up with the Holy Spirit — I pray that their lives will reflect the fruits of the Spirit and that the fragrance of Jesus follow them wherever they go.
As they return to their home towns, may they be able to come in humbly and with love to their churches with an eagerness to serve and share with the things that they have learned here. Surround them with people who will spur them on to continue to do good works. Continue to mold them and make them more and more like you.
Thank you and we love you -
In Your name we pray,
Amen

Prayer for GLDI 2012: Day 39 – By Kevin B. Lee ’08

Dear Father God,

We thank you for each new day you give us. Thank you for your unconditional love that you give us each and every day. And we thank you the new GLDI class or 2012. During our times at GLDI, you revealed to us your truth and let us learn more of your love. As we are co-heirs with Christ, we may share in your glory as we share in your sufferings.
As this year’s class at GLDI comes to a close, help them to continue to grow in your Love. You have brought each individual here for a reason from various places. Let what was learned at GLDI to stay in their hearts and minds. There’s only a few days left and I pray that each person will be able to leave completely renewed and transformed. I pray that everyone will go back to their own communities and reveal and share their renewed lives. If there are any students still waiting for your call, I pray that they will be encouraged. That they will be reminded that you are a loving God that hear our prayers.
Let no one leave this week with a lacking feeling. Let all distractions be cast aside so that these final days can be focused on You and furthering your kingdom. I pray that you will bless their time of debriefing with Prof. Ben Shin. Let your Holy Spirit fill the campus among the students, staff, and speakers.
I pray that you would watch over all of the current alumni as well. As GLDI 2012 is coming to a close, let us be able to welcome them. As our GLDI network grows, let your Kingdom grow even more. Holy Spirit guide us and protect us from the ways of this world. Let us be transformed by the renewing of our minds.
We thank you and praise you in your Holy Name, Amen

Prayer for GLDI 2012: Day 38 – By Isaac Seo ’08

Heavenly Father,

Thank you so much for your kind hand that has been upon the staff, speakers and students of GLDI 2012.
We know that it is by your will and by your hand that so many young men and women strive further to seek your glory and kingdom.
Please empower each and every second spent by each student to powerfully impact the world for Christ.
Through all things and in all circumstances, may You alone become a banner for them.
Help them to build lasting friendships in You. Be with them in all their travels.
Lord, as the time of their pilgrimage is about to come to a close, help them to move onwards from GLDI with a sense of purpose motivated by love.
As they learn much about Your word, may they always be reminded that whatever knowledge they acquire, it is by Your great grace alone.
Guide their new found knowledge and experience to humble their hearts and not make it calloused towards the current state of the church.
I know that for many in the 2012 class of GLDI, great trials and hardships await after GLDI.
Please be with them and may they always turn to You and Your paradoxical methods for Your kingdom.
Though the world scoffs at them, may You be the Rock they build upon.
Lord, I pray for Your touch of supernatural power upon all the tasks You have purposed GLDI to do.
Be with the staff at GLDI. Though they walk the narrow and winding path, help them to find peace in Your great shepherding care.
May they look towards You for encouragement and strength.
Father, at this time, we ask for Your provisions in meeting the financial needs of GLDI.
We acknowledge that You are the owner of all things. In Your knowledge, You know what is in need. We pray that You will provide all that is needed and through Your provision, Your name be glorified.
I especially ask that You would touch the hearts of each alumni that reads this prayer to donate whatever amount You ask of them so that we alumni can be united as one in the cause of lifting up this upcoming class of global imapctors.
Lastly, I pray for Dr. Kim and his leadership.
May You be his strength and shield. May his leadership always be saturated in motivation for your kingly order.
Bless his health and patient vigor. Help him to fulfill Your purposes.
Lord, I look forward to Your great hand among this year’s GLDI. May the class of 2012 be better than all previous classes combined. Bless all the alumni, together with this year’s class, so that we may all stand firm because the revolution is still on.
In the Holy name of Jesus Christ, Who gave His all so that we may become all His,
Amen.
